Zachary Myers

Zachary is a Sacramento based Artist, who runs art programming and events at clayARTstudio814.

As of January 2026, Zachary became the new owner of clayARTstudio814 and is now the primary point of contact for all studio inquiries. You can reach him directly through the contact page on this website.

Much of Zachary’s art practice centers around working collaboratively within community. From coordinating art exhibitions, to designing, scaffolded, project-based workshops, collaboration is at the center of his practice. He is a vocal advocate for funding regional programs that make art education assessable in Northern California.

His ceramic and mixed media works, often focus on storytelling, culminating in a collections of art objects that are cheeky, loud, and often fabulously tasteless. His works are intuitive and frank, utilizing representations of nostalgic and symbolic objects to push loud, overt, narratives that reflect the different elements of his personal identity.

His work is process-based, utilizing contemporary mold-making processes as well as traditional ceramic hand-building techniques. He likes to look at art-making as a space for constant experimentation with materials and making methods. The best art moments are not dreamed up in meditation, they happen in the process of doing.

He is interested in the action of taking something ordinary, breaking it apart to make it into something new, and then dropping it on the ground to see what happens next.
