Carolyn Markis

Carolyn Markis lives in Sacramento, Calif.  She graduated from CSUS with a Bachelors Degree in Art and a secondary teaching credential.  After many years as an owner of a custom frame shop/gallery she pursued one-of-kind jewelry making and metalsmithing.  Still living in Sacramento she added scuba diving and world travel.

Pivoting into the world of clay, she found her passion in sculpting and all the many ways to explore surface techniques, figurative, and abstract expression.  

Carolyn has been active in the clay community, juried shows, open studio tours and continues to add to her knowledge through clay in-person classes and online tutorials in the last 15 years.  

She is a member of several arts leagues in the area and is affiliated with ClayArtsStudio814 in Sacramento.
