Functional Serving Vessels with Zachary

During these February workshops participants will be using a collection of found objects to create functional serving vessels. We are going to explore a series of hand-building processes used to create functional dinnerware. We will also have the opportunity to utilize a robust cart full of textured objects and stamps to create personalized and unique serving vessels. 

This workshop includes participation in 6 studio sessions where attendees will build, customize, and glaze their artworks. After the workshop, there is an additional gathering where the finished artworks are unveiled and participants can share about their inspirations and experiences.

Necessary materials and tools will be available for participants to use throughout the workshop.

  • All six sessions of this daytime vessels workshop will take place from 11am to 2pm, on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a total of three weeks. 

    There is a one week space held for the artworks to dry and undergo their first firing. We will then reconvene and glaze the artworks. 

    Session 1: Tuesday, February 4th: 11am to 2pm (Clay Building)

    Session 2: Thursday, February 6th: 11am to 2pm (Clay Building)

    Session 3: Tuesday, February 11th: 11am to 2pm (Clay Building)

    Session 4: Thursday, February 13th: 11am to 2pm (Clay Building)

    Session 5: Tuesday, February 25th: 11am to 2pm (Glazing)

    Session 6: Thursday, February 27th: 11am to 2pm  (Glazing)

    There is a designated artwork pick-up gathering where participants in both workshops come together to see their finished artworks and share about the process. It is super fun!

    Finished Artwork Pick-up and Community Gathering: March 7th from 5pm to 8pm

All sessions must be attended to complete the project.

All attendees must be 18 years or older to participate.

In this hand-building workshop, attendees may need to be able to safely lift and maneuver up to 25lbs of material at a time.


FAQ

How does clayARTstudio handle cancellations?

Cancellations must be submitted at least 48 hours before the start of the first session to be eligible for a refund. All refunds will be subject to a $10 service fee. We do not offer partial refunds or pro-rated refunds if you are unavaliable during one or more of the posted sessions. Please be sure you are avaliable during all listed sessions before registering for this workshop.
